Taking its inspiration from the 1st millennium tribe that settled across Southeast Asia, LAO reflects the rich culinary traditions of the LAO people, heavily inspired by the natural beauty and intrinsic cuisine of Vietnam.
Introducing an authentic Vietnamese family dinner experience at LAO. The experience is composed of a set menu, which includes a variety of traditional flavors through starters and soup, main courses and desserts, all served on a sharing basis.
LAO aims to elevate traditional Vietnamese cuisine through Chef Mai’s menu, fusing traditional cooking techniques with modern presentations developing unique flavors and sensory experiences. LAO creates a truly unforgettable dining experience with both indoor and alfresco seating overlooking the hotel’s central gardens. A spacious and creatively designed private dining room is available for intimate parties and dinners.
I settled myself and saw that already a Set Menu of 3 course Meal was kept on the table so that We get a better idea of what we will be having for the night.
To start with the Appetizers we were sereved :
- Crispy Chicken Rolls, done with Mixed Herbs, Spiced Dressing, Markouk Bread and Mushrooms.
- Beef wrapped in King harry leaves with peanuts and Tamarind Sauce.
- Vietnamese Rice Paper with Shrimps, done with Shallots, Garlic, Ginger, Mint and Cilantro
Here comes the Signature Mocktails from the house, Amelia Rose prepared with concoction of Strawberry and Orange Juice with Rose Aromas.
Strawberry Cocoa prepared with Black Tea and a hint of Coconut, if you are at Lao you have to check their signature mocktails as everything is prepared with Black Tea and infused with lots of flavors.
Here comes the Mains and we were served the signature dishes from the Chef himself.
Stir Fried Chicken Breast with Lemongrass and Chili, o this was the perfect from the house. The Chicken tasted so yum and the ingredients used was infused till the last bite.
Fried Rice with Vegetables, this was the hit from the place. I ended up ordering another bowl as it was done so deliciously with full of flavors, generous amount of vegetables used with lots of aromas of delicacy.
Here comes my favorite part the Desserts and over here it was so authentic and traditional.
Grilled Banana with Coconut Ice Cream, Banana and Peanuts.
Overall it was an amazing experience, the staff was very professional and I must mention here the vegetables you eat at Lao are all planted next to the restaurant in their kitchen garden and I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak of it.
