Zahira is a Modern Middle Eastern restaurant and lounge, that offers a generous sharing menu created by the award-winning Chef Greg Malouf. The ambiance is a warm, cosy and the lights are down low boasting a modern vibes to it. I was impressed with the sitting as it was comfy and very spacious, the servers were so gorgeous ever there, dressed in green velvet which made the place even more elegant and appealing.
I was there to taste the Iftar set menu priced at AED 190 per person. Everything is served on table whatever is there up in the menu.
Our table was already set with Mejdool Dates, Dried Figs and Apricots, Spiced Almonds, Iranian Walnuts and Pumpkin Seeds and last but not the least Selection of Scrubs.
From the Mezze Section we were served, Harira Soup done with Moroccan style lentil and chickpea soup with lamb.
Burrata with Ful Madamus and fresh Broad Beans, O this was again a hit from the place, everything was so perfectly done and the Burrata along with the beans tasted so very divine.
Sultan’s Eggplant delight with peppers and buffalo mozzarella, this was presented so uniquely in a gorgeous serving, and of course the taste was so divine, hats off to the Chef.
Sambousek stuffed with mushrooms and akawi cheese, O again a delicious delicacy from the house, tasted all very delicious and perfect.
Fried WhiteBait with Ras el Hanout and fennel, it tasted so delicious, dry fish is always my favorite and over here they did a justice and made it to so tempting.
Ejjeh, Lebanese Omelette with Bastourma and grated Koussa, this tasted so very delicious, the omelette was perfectly done, soft and tender and the mingling of the ingredients just added so much to the character of the dish.
From the mains we were served, Malouf’s Ouzi done with slow cooked spiced Lamb and Nuts.
Cucumber Salad with Pomegranate and Goat Cheese.
Scottish Salmon grilled with fennel, lime, sumac and tempura zaatar. O this tasted so well, the fish was done perfectly and was delicious and divine.
Now here comes my favorite part, the Desserts and it was served so traditionally according to the Holy month of Ramadan.
Baklava, Peach & Apricot Pavlova with organic Rose blossom labneh, Passion Fruit Mahalabia – Lebanese Milk Pudding with labneh and Iranian candy floss and Watermelon and Pistachio Halwa.
Overall it was an amazing experience, I am definitely going back to try their other delicacies after Ramadan.
