Set in the beautiful Souk Al Bahar development Gunaydin sits on the waterfront promenade, enchanting guests with a spectacular view of the world-famous Dubai Fountain and Burj Khalifa, bringing Turkish flavour as a “Steakhouse” concept, showcasing its craftsmanship with the most delicious high-quality meats.
Fans of the Turkish cuisine are in for an exceptional treat as Gunaydin’s open kitchen concept can really help work up the appetite. Diners can delight in watching their meat grilled to perfection and gaze at how cold and hot Turkish mezzes are prepared.
From the Starters we were served :
- Freshly prepared Breads . straight from the Oven.
- Panco – fried Potatoes with Eggplant with Garlic and Yogurt. This was the hit of the show, so very moist and delicious and it seems I finished my entire Bread with this delicacy altogether.
- Hummus – Fresh and delicious.
- Erzincan Tulum Cheese
This was the best that could come out from any Turkish place, everything was so soft and tender and of course mouthwatering at the same time.
From the Salads we tried the Gavurdagi, done with cubed tomatoes, finely chopped onions, walnuts and Turkish herbs. O wow this was the best, the in house dressing left a sour and a sweet taste which added so much to the character of the dish.
From the Cold Mezze we opted for the Barbequed Eggplant Salad, this reminded me of my mothers kitchen as she prepares this with the same zest as Gunaydin, thanks for relishing my childhood memories with this. Everything as so very perfect and the taste all divine and delicious.
From the mains we tried the Begendi Kebap, done with marinated Lamb pieces on a bed of Eggplant Puree.This was so very delicious with soft and tender pieces of meat made it even more relishing. The lamb chunks will literally melt in your mouth leaving behind a sweet and delectable taste to it.
Now here comes the most awaited dish Gunaydin Special, this is where heaven lies in our taste buds. Delicious and Tender piece of Australian Beef Tenderloin, prepared live by one of the most expert chef pf Gunaydin with Butter drizzle on a hot plate and let the cuts to fry a bit with parsley and pepper added to it.
It was again a dash of butter on to the plate. I do not have words to express the taste of the meat as it was happiness in my mouth.
I am definitely going back for this.
From the Desserts we tried the Katmer, done with antep crispy baked pastry with pistachios and vanilla ice cream. It literally melts in your mouth on every bite, loaded will full delicacy this one goes with a refreshing cup of Moroccan Tea on board and by watching the mesmerizing Fountain of the Dubai Mall.
Here comes the refreshing Moroccan Tea from the house.
Overall it was an amazing experience with the best Turkish food, ambiance, view and here I must mention Ahmed our host who really knows the menu well and being such a great adviser on our selection.
