Amigo Pastry serving Syrian cuisine serves the most authentic food in town, I always was a hard core fan of Lebanese cuisine but YES to Syrian food from now on. The place is located inside the Barsha Height formerly Tecom. It is a small, cozy with an open kitchen with an option for outdoor seating.

The staff over there was very friendly and you can actually see the Chef cooking in the kitchen.

From the Cold Mezze I ordered the Hummus with Beirouti, which was perfectly done and with the green leaves it tasted even more delicious.

Fattoush is a Levantine bread salad made from toasted or fried pieces of pita bread combined with mixed greens and other vegetables, such as radishes and tomatoes.

Kashkaval & Muhammara, laid on a soft dough. It tasted like the Italian Pizza but with an Arabic twist to it.

Kashkaval is a type of yellow cheese made of cow milk.

Muhammara is a hot pepper dip.

Safiha, its lamb minced meat on a crispy dough and here at Amigo they serve in 3 different flavors. One with the Yogurt, Pomegranate and Tomato, I loved all the 3 flavors as it tasted really well, the meat all juicy, tender and perfectly mixed.

From the mains we went with the Daily Dish which was Mulukhiyah, is the leaves of Corchorus olitorius commonly known as Nalta jute and tossa jute. It is used as a vegetable. Traditionally mulukhiyyah is cooked with chicken or at least chicken stock for flavor and is served with white rice, accompanied with lemon or lime.

It was served with Soup, Rice, Humous, Salad and Soft Drink.

Dish of the Day

I went with the Chicken Kabsa Platter, served with a roasted Chicken with flavored rive with a hot piping sauce and yogurt. This was my favorite, the chicken was so very well done and the rice was the best.

Overall it was an amazing experience, my host Eunice was so very sweet and really knows the menu well. If you are looking for some delicious Arabic food then this is the place to head on.
