A vibrant and refined 4 star property the Metropolitan Hotel Dubai occupies one of Dubai’s most central and sought-after locations alongside the Sheikh Zayed Road, making it an ideal location for visitors seeking contemporary comfort in the heart of the city.Built in 1979, the original Metropolitan Hotel was famed for being one of Dubai’s first hotels and an institution in itself. ‘The Met’, as it became affectionately known, reigned as a treasured ‘home from home’ amongst local and international guests alike for over 20 years.

With a choice of five restaurants and bars, an array of charming yet relaxed dining and drinking options await guests, including our traditional English pub; The Red Lion, an authentic neighborhood Italian – Don Corelone, Al Safa; serving up global cuisine around the clock, Al Sheif Shisha Lounge for an authentic Arabian experience as well as Tropicana, our daytime pool bar.

I was invited for The Market Lunch Concept where Al Safa transforms into an indoor food market where diners can select from a wide selection of tantalizing dishes from chunky breads, salads, sandwiches, cold cuts to live pasta counters, live roast stations, live Asian woks and mouthwatering desserts of the day.

Let me start from Salads and it was a wide range of Mediterranean Quinoa Salad, Watermelon Feta Salad, Cous Cous & Vegetable Salad and Thai Red Beef Noodle Salad. Tried the Quinoa and Red Beef all gorgeously served on little glass jars.

There comes the Caesar Salad, Falafel Salad, BBQ Portuguese Chicken Salad, Cucumber Slices and Tomato Slices.

From the Cold Mezze it was Hummus, Moutabel, Muhammara Timble and Metropolitan Labneh. Everything was delicious and my favorite was the Muhammara.

Their is a whole lot of Sauces, Chutneys all in house from Al Safa all catered for The Market Lunch Concept.

From the mains I tried the Cannelloni Gratinated, all perfectly done with a lasagna sheet with meat perfectly done.

Roasted Lamb with Oriental Rice, the stock of the meat was perfectly mingling with the rice. You got to try them over here.

From the grills which was my favorite of all I went with the Chicken Tikka, all tender and the spices infused till the last bite. You should definitely try this at Al Safa.

Fish Fillet, this one was so very delicious. Perfectly grilled and served with Mayonnaise Sauce which went so perfectly with the fish served.
