Tom Yum Soup, Literally, the name “tom yam” derives from two Thai words: “tom” and “yam”. “Tom” refers to the boiling process, while “yam” refers to a Thai spicy and sour salad. Indeed, tom yum has distinct hot and sour flavours, with fragrant spices and herbs generously used in the broth. The basic broth comprises stock and fresh ingredients such as lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, lime juice, fish sauce, and crushed chili peppers. The soup over here was the delicious treat to oneself.

From the Main Course I tasted the Pad Thai with Shrimps and Bean Curd. It was perfectly done and though was served in a buffet spread it was not at all soggy like other Pad Thai’s.

Beef Rendang,  is a spicy meat dish which originated from the Minangkabau ethnic group of Indonesia, and is now commonly served across the country. Along with the main meat ingredient, rendang uses coconut milk  and a paste of mixed ground spices, including ginger, galangal, turmeric leaves, lemongrass, garlic, shallots, chillis, and other spices. The meat pieces are slowly cooked in coconut milk and spices until almost all the liquid is gone, allowing the meat to absorb the condiments.

The cooking process changes from boiling to frying as the liquid evaporates. The slow cooking process allows the meat to absorb all the spices and become tender. To cook the meat until tender with almost all the liquid evaporated requires great care, if the meat is not to be burnt or spoilt. Because of its generous use of numerous spices, rendang is known for having a complex and unique taste. Information by Wikipedia.

Salmon Yakitori,  is a Japanese type of skewered chicken. The preparation of Yakitori involves skewering the meat with kushi  a type of skewer typically made of steel, bamboo, or similar materials. Afterwards, they are grilled over a charcoal fire. During or after cooking, the meat is typically seasoned with tare sauce or salt. It was prepared with grilled Salmon and the spices infused till the last bite.
