An inviting, contemporary setting, perfect for relaxed conversation with friends. A dramatic open kitchen and an alluring, well-stocked bar, an extensive terrace and open dining space that blends seamlessly with commanding skyline views, and a constantly changing soundscape of evocative beats crafted by our resident DJ. An ingenious reinterpretation of the flavors of the subcontinent, with a contemporary twist. A stunning, loft-style setting designed to foster social interaction and culinary discovery.Tamba’s dishes combine the finest seasonal ingredients with a precise, exquisite technique and beautiful presentation.
The menu encourages sharing and experimentation, retaining the social aspect of traditional Indian dining. A thoughtful wine list, with an emphasis on champagne, complements both the flavors of the food and the overall sense of occasion. Exciting, innovative signature cocktails infuse the essence of contemporary India in each glass. The menu is between bites, salads, raw, vegetarian and meat (from fish & sea food, to chicken & duck or beef & lamb) with 4 to 5 dishes in each section.
I opted for a Friday night to try Tamba and what a crowd it was starting from the restaurant to the roof top led by a red carpet entry Tamba is all about Copper decors, utensils and a heavy Bells hanged from the ceilings to give you a feeling Welcome To Modern India!!!
As mentioned earlier the menu is divided every section and from the Bites we were served Delhi Mix, a chaat reinvented with quinoa smoky mess, the food world is turning into gastronomy and this is a very good example how your own Chaat turns into a smoky one keeping in mind the taste and the flavors.
Now here comes my raw plate of Seared Salmon in Anardana giving it a citrus explosion. I am very skeptical to try anything raw but over here it was worth a try, you wont feel that your Salmon is actually raw. The salmon was laid on a bed of a very strong sauce which added a lot of character to the dish.
Here comes my Salad for the evening done with Prawn, Papaya, Pomelo & Green Pea Crush. A healthy way to start your meal and the smoky flavored tender prawns were the hit for the salad.
The Mocktails over here are not to be missed at all and mine lovelies were Dragon Flower done with orange blossom, elderflower, dragonfruit, lime and lemonade. O my Gosh!!! what a delicacy a drink can be so tastier and refreshing. Hats up to the presentation as well.
The Kolkata Libation, beautifully done with grapefruit, lime, jaggery, kumquat and lemonade. Served in a copper vessel with the most elegant presentation and taste of pure divine. A must try at Tamba the next time you dine in.
As I am a hard core Non Vegetarian but you cannot miss the veggie dishes over here, I am proudly claiming the Veggies are better then the Non Veg ones.
Sweet & Sour Pumpkin, Spinach Paratha, Tomato Salsa. In simple language our very own Puri Sabji got fusionized here and tasted so divine and pure. It was the same exact taste from my mother’s kitchen, memories flashed back all thanks to Tamba for recreating my childhood days with this simple yet most elegant dish so far.
Bombay Bhai Roll, creamy Aampanna. Tricky right?? Its our Pau Bhaji rolled inside Lasagna and laid on a bed of creamy Aampanna to give you the cheesy flavor. How innovative an Indian cuisine gets an Italian twist to it and stay calm and do not worry because the taste was divine.
From the Fish & Sea Food section we ordered the Grilled Chilean Seabass, Harra Pesto. This was the star of the show, delectable and moist bites of Sea Bass grilled to perfection. Garnished with Bean Sprouts on top to give a very flavorful taste to the fish. The fish all juicy, moist and tender and the spices used was infused till the last bite.
Here comes my Lamb Chop Teekha, delectable bites of juicy, tender and moist meat, perfectly medium done. This was the choice of our host Anirban and I must say worth a try.
Smoked Chicken, Tomato Gravy, Black Pepper Burrata. Our very own butter chicken got replaced by a delectable tomato gravy with burratas. The Burratas was used instead of the Butter and the tomato gravy was complete with a sweet and sour taste drizzled with 22 Carat gold dust.
It was served with house made Naan fresh and hot from the oven.
My next drink was the Jagger Jam pot done with guava juice, jaggery syrup, lime juice, masala syrup and cinnamon. This was again one of the best wonders from the Tamba team, a sweet and tangy drink to revive your senses.
Here comes the best part of the meal, Desserts!!!! Life is too short eat dessert first.
The Break Up, done with dark chocolate mousse, peanut semifreddo, salted caramel & chocolate sauce. Served in a copper jar and breaked with a hammer so that the chocolate sauce can be drizzled from top. A chocolaty taste on every bite with a hint of caramel just added a lot of flavor to it.
Mumtaz, done with Ice halwa, strawberry yogurt parfait, rose & pistachio reduction and rose confit. This one was heavenly delicious dessert, the ice cream was perfectly spiked with a pistachio sauce which added so much to the character of the sweet. The confit was fresh and delicious. You cannot miss to take a beautiful shot of it.
Overall it was an amazing experience with the awesome service by Anirban our host of the day. The food all tasty and delicious, the ambiance gives you an inviting vibe to come back again and again.
