I was invited for the new menu launch and i must say Indian Cuisine cannot get better then this. Delectable bites of deliciousness from Chef expert hands to our tables.
To start of with the day we were served fresh Orange Juice and Jaljeera.
For condiments we were served Papad in various forms along with house made Sweet Mango Chutney, Mint Chutney, Mango Pickle and Chilli Pickle. The chutneys and the pickles are worth a try.
The Pre Starters are followed after the condiments serving Aloo Methi Tikki & Lemon Pepper Shooter. The best Tikki i have ever had, so very moist and the aloo methi mingling so very well with the other spices used, served on on a bedof Tamarind Chutney and Saffron Mayonnaise.
The Lemon Shooter was one of its kind, lemon and pepper mingling all well with basil seeds on top. The perfect shooter and shouting out loud to tell you that your journey to deliciousness has begun.
The starters are always my 2nd best part of the meal, Dessert being the first. Here at Mahec they have served my favorite Assorted Kebab platter which consisted of :
Traditional Chicken Tikka : boneless diced Chicken marinated in Yogurt and red Chilies and cooked in a Clay Oven
Lamb Seekh Kebab : fresh minced Lamb with Ginger, Garlic, Green Chilies and fresh Herbs, grilled over charcoal fire.
Tandoori Prawn : Char grilled Prawns marinated in pickled yogurt.
Paneer asparagus roll : thin slices of cottage cheese rolled with spiced potatoes and asparagus and cooked in a clay oven.
Now after a scrumptious meal we were serve Rose & Litchi Sorbets as palette cleanser and i must say the litchi sorbet was one of its kick, so very fresh and refreshing and the best way to kick start of your main course.
Murg Makhanwala, boneless char grilled chicken dices in cream and butter flavored rich tomato gravy. O WOW what a delicacy, the chicken so well infused with the other spices used and the gravy all thick and creamy. I loved the rich texture of the gravy a sit went so well with the Naans served.
Dal Makhani, whole black lentil and red kidney beans simmered overnight with traditional spices, flavored with butter and fresh cream. I have heard a lot about this Dal Makhani from my other blogger friends but when i tried it myself i knew exactly what they were trying to tell me. The best i could ever have, so rich, thick, creamy and the taste so divine.A must try at Mahec.
Palak Paneer, minced spinach gravy with cottage cheese on a thick and creamy gravy. Best goes with Indian Breads served. As i am a huge cottage cheese lover and this one was an example of divine taste , all thanks to the Chef for creating such a delicacy.
Lamb Briyani, melange of lamb, basmati rice, fresh herbs and spices, mint, saffron and yogurt cooked in a sealed pan. The Briyani left the most flavorful and aromatic fragrance from it, and the taste so divine and pure. I am always on the look out of the best Briyanis in town and i found mine here at Mahec.
Served with a delightful light Raita with cucumber and coriander leaves.
Indian Breads, we were served a basket full of breads, all fresh and hot form the kitchen of Mahec and the list goes like this :
Naan Plain and Butter, soft leavened flat bread made from refined flour and baked in clay oven.
Lachcha Paratha, soft leavened flat bread made from refined whole wheat flour and baked in clay oven.
Now Desserts being my favorite part i am always in the look out for it. I was 100% sure that this place would treat me with the best of their desserts.
An Assortment of Kulfi – Aam, Kesar, Malai, Pista, a traditional Indian style mango, saffron, cream and pistachio ice creams. Served on a bed of Raspberry and Cranberry sauce and topped with vanilla candy floss. O MY GOSH!!! For all sweet lovers this is the perfect Kulfi and now my favorite on the list.
Bombay Pudding, the signature dessert prepared with walnut, brownie and gulab jamun layered with cardamon flavored milk custard. The best that could come out from the kitchen of Mahec, reminded me of my mom’s custard pudding, very relishing and deliciously divine.
Overall it was an amazing experience and the new menu is worth a try. You should definitely head on to Mahec to relish their finest delicacies.
