It was a spread of lavish Gujrati and Punjabi Veg Thali, everyday it changes, in fact you won’t get it repeat during lunch and dinner time too. The Thali was unlimited, it seems so much you can resist your taste buds on. The Thali plates, bowl are already placed from beforehand, so that once you sit down it is served immediately.

At first we were served Buttermilk (Chaas), as in Indian tradition to serve this drink which helps you in start with your meal with, refreshing and soothing.

Freshly cuts Salads of Cucumber, Cabbage and Carrots was served.

A delightful Green Chili and Tamarind Chutney, which perfectly mingled with every dish served. I really loved the Tamarind Sweet Chutney a lot.

A Crisp and Hot Papad, which again can be found in every household of India.

There were stuffed Bread Rolls with Potato and Veggies, went perfectly well with the chutneys served.

Potato Curry, this had the flavor of curry leaves and curd. A watery based gravy for relishing your taste buds.

A gravy based Mix Vegetables was served with carrots, beans, cabbage.I love this dish even more here as it reminded me of my mother’s kitchen.

Moong Dal, a gravy and thick based lentil served.

Sweet Gujarati Curry, as you know that Gujarati loves sweet in their every dish. So this curry with curd and besan was sweet, but delicious too.

Dal, a plainlight and gravy lentil was served to go with the Roti, Rice and Khichidi.

There was Ghee spiked hot and warm Rotis served.

The Khichdi was my ultimate hit, hot and warm, delicious and mouthwatering. Prepared with Moon Split, went perfectly with every Vegetable dish served. But I recommend to eat with the two Chutneys served.

For desert there was Orange Rasgullas served, very soft and melts inside the mouth.

Overall it was my most amazing experience, and I will definitely go back to try their other delicious Thali dishes.

The History of Rangoli

”Our forefathers originated from a small village, Advana in Gujarat. Being farmers by profession we have always been in touch with the core of food right from the inception to it. Our migration after the late 60’s our first attempt in the journey of demystifying food began in 1972 when our Manoranjan restaurant was established. It was nestled in Bur Dubai near the textile market of Juma Masjid road. It was among the first very Indian eateries in Dubai which served home like food to people away from home. Our second venture came in form of Rangoli restaurant on 1992”.
