A “Hub” of flavors, ideas and passion – Zaika Hub is a melting pot of some of the best cuisines from the Mughal & Awadhi Dastarkhwans of North India as well as some of tastiest Bengali dishes, right from the by lanes of Kolkata to the lavish spreads of the erstwhile zamindars. Zaika Hub is the dream of 3 families who have the passion for food, taste and the zest for doing something different. The personal touch is visible right through the menu, decor & the zaika of the food.
As i am in always search of Bengali cuisine, myself landed from Assam this cuisine is very close to my heart. It always HOME when you visit a Bengali restaurant and Kolkatta food being my favorite. The staff hospitality was enough to win me over, so professional yet so friendly.
Here come a home made Pickle for complimentary, it reminded me of my Granny’s kitchen shelf loaded with all pickles, fresh and delicious.
A fresh cut Salad was also given as complimentary, it always goes best with every Bengali dish.
For the mains we ordered Steamed Rice with Katla Kalia its fish cooked in Onion gravy. A thick based gravy with a fish fry on it. A traditional Bengali cuisine and one of my favorites.
Dim Shorshe, its eggs cooked in mustard sauce, another delicacy from the Bengali cuisine. A must try out dish, you can infact go with the fish one too.
Now here comes my Plain Moong Dal, its roasted yellow lentils, this was surely something i am very close to as my mother always cooks in her kitchen and the taste was just the same.
W e also packed an Egg Roll, which again was one of the hits, the paratha was soft and tender and the filling of the veggies and the egg was generous enough.
Though it was just a quick visit, yet to try so many dishes and write about it, stay tuned for that. Visiting again soon.
