When chef-husband & wife, Neil Kleinberg and DeDe Lahman, opened Clinton Street Baking Company in New York City, their only mission was to make the best baked goods in the city, hand-mixed in small batches. But soon the local and international recognition stumbled in, and murmurs of Neil’s simple yet delicious omelets, sandwiches and soups moved people to cluster — then crowd — the block. New York Magazine voted Neil’s blueberry pancakes best in the city (twice!).
Fast forward to today, the culinary splendor has made its way across the Atlantic to our very own city, Dubai. The Downtown Dubai location is comfortable and humble, in the morning it smells like blueberry muffins and fresh ground coffee; in the evening, buttermilk fried chicken and waffles. All day and night it sounds like latin-southern-blue note jazz with a New York vibe that you can feel the second you walk in.
I was invited to taste the delicious and the award winning recipes of theirs and i must worth a try. The meat lovers to the veggie likers this is a place to hang out with your loved ones, sip coffees, booze your shakes and taste their delicious food ons with the spectacular view of the Burj Khalifa. The first spotting is the smile of the staf, all lively and chirping and what i loved the most their T-SHIRT says served with Love and Butter.
Hats of to Chef Alexi and my host Firas, super talented yet so humble.
To start with we ordered a Classic Extra Thick Vanilla and Chocolate Peanut Butter Shakes, and i must say every sip i take i was in love with this drink. So delicious yet so refreshing. You should definitely try each of their bestseller shakes.
We had a delectable start with the starters, served in generous portions.
Loaded Idaho Potato Skin, it was prepared with Beef beacon, Scallions, Jalapeno and served with a Sour Cream. All cheesed up potatoes was wow on my every bite. It was tender, perfectly grilled and the ingredients all balanced up.
Chile Chicken Wings, delectable bites of free range Chicken with smoked Ancho Chile Sauce and served with a Buttermilk Dressing. The meat all juicy and the spiced infused till the last bite. I love the juicy factor of it.
Mini Crab Cakes, crispy mini maryland Crab Cakes served with house made Avocado Tartar Sauce. A delectable bite of happiness, the crab minced perfectly with the batter used which a gave a crisp feeling in the outer layer and as oft and tender inside.
The starters were so delicious i was wondering the main course will be a hit, and of course it was way out of my expectation.
Salmon Burger, wild Norwegian Salmon with Avocado, Sliced Tomato, Arugula and Lemon Pepper Mayo. I have never thought Salmon would taste so delicious in a burger patty, it was soft, tender, delicious and perfectly done as i can feel it on my every bite. Served with Sweet Potato Fries and Coleslaw.
Buttermilk Fried Chicken Dinner, now this was is an award winning recipe and i must say well deserved. Bone in Buttermilk organic fried Chicken, Honey-Tobasco Sauce, House Slaw, Jalapeno Corn Bread, Sour Pickle. All sounded so delicious. The Chciken pieces was heaven, so delicious and the spices infused till the last bite and with the honey sauce it just started to create magic. A must, must and must try out at Clintons.
Our last but not the least was Rib Sandwich from their specials, beef ribs shredded inside a burger patty, served with french fries and coleslaw. I was skeptical about this dish as i love ribs with bones, but when i tried it was only WOW from me. Perfectly done, shredded smoothly and very well goes with the burger patty served.
For the Dessert which is my favorite part we had Date Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream, the date cake was plump, soft and delicious, drizzled with salted caramel at the bottom and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was happiness inside my mouth.
To end our delicious meal i had a cup of Americano and my husband had cappuccino, it was refreshing after a meal.
