In this legendary South African steakhouse, you’ll always find juicy, succulent steaks served with sides of laughter filled conversations and unforgettable moments. As the name suggests, the steakhouses also operate Butchery Counters. While grabbing a couple of tenderloins to take home might not be all that practical, you can still visit the counter to learn about the aging process and pick up a copy of the restaurant’s handy grilling guide.
From friendly faces, unmatched service to fantastic recommendations, this South African import ticks all the necessary meaty boxes. All of the meat is good quality, and if you fancy cooking up a steak at home, you can buy cuts from the butcher counter at the front of the restaurant. This butcher shop concept gives the eatery some rustic charm when it comes to the interior decor.
I was invited to their Mall of the Emirates branch, it was an open cafe, floor done with wood, a lively evening and faces all smiling.
It was a delicious treat to me and my hubby, we were welcomed with a complimentary breads with house made hummus, butter and beef sausages done with a luscious tomato based gravy.
I went with the Choco Mint, chocolate with mint, that was something real good taste and topped with an airy of heavy cream.
My Hubby’s was the Mint Lemonade, freshly prepared with some refreshing influence.
Now were serves the traditional Biltong it is a form of dried, cured meat that originated in South Africa. It is typically made from raw fillets of meat cut into strips following the grain of the muscle, or flat pieces sliced across the grain. It is similar to beef jerky in that they are both spiced, dried meats.
Here we were served Beef sausage, Beef Jerky and Snopsticks, all delicious and different.
During the holy month of Ramadan, you will be served Lentil soup during Iftar time. The soup was thick, creamy and delicious topped with fried onions.
For appetizers we were served The Butcher Shop and Grill’s signatures and best sellers.
Chicken Coxinha, deep fried chicken with special filling of minced chicken and Philadelphia cheese with an orange aioli mayonnaise. A delicious playful chicken balls, fresh and luscious.
Traditional Boerweors, a signature by The Butcher Shop and Grill, its a traditional South African sausage served on African fried pap and tomato relish.
The Boerweors, a delicious retreat and perfectly done.
The Pap was corned mashed into cubes, one of its kind.
The tomato relish, was delectable and best goes with the Pap.
Spicy Chicken Wings, the delicious sweet chicken wigs done with soy sauce and honey served with Blue Cheese and Sweet Chilli Dip. It was some sweet bite of happiness, a crazy wing fan this bad boys got some real taste.
Here comes our delectable main course, these place served one of the best steaks and ribs in town. A must try out!!
Chicken Florentina, chicken schnitzel (escalope) topped with creamed spinach and melted cheese. Delicious and delicious, perfect fried of Chicken breast, tossed with tasty spinach and melted with cheese on top was the hit for the show.
Beef Ribs, dry rubbed with secret spice, slow roasted, basted and grilled to perfection, Perfectly done with BBQ sauce, the meat all succulent, delicious and the spices all infused till the last bones.A heavenly delicious treat!!
Ladies Fillet, roasted and barbequed whole, delicious as heaven. Perfectly done for me, so succulent, juicy and meat. Served with sweet potatoes and Broccoli. The mushroom sauce was the best, the best i have ever tasted. I am in love with the steaks from The Butcher Shop and Grill.
Now here comes my best part the dessert. As much as i am in love with the steaks, the dessert are equally awesome.
Lemon Meringue Tart, delicious as it sounds, a combination of sweet pastry crust, lemon curd filling and a light airy meringue. Wow, Wow and Wow from me, generously big and deliciously delicious.
We ended up with a refreshing Cappuccino.
