Mint Leaf inside Al Souq, Jumeirah Fishing Harbour, you’ll find this highly attractive Indian restaurant. This elegant and unique looking venue has an overall appearance of simple white across the walls and furniture, but decorated with an intricate, cut-out-style lacy pattern. On top of this elegant look of white lace, color is employed to sophisticated effect, with a few decorative plates hung inside arched alcoves, colorful glass chandeliers and hammered-brass lanterns hanging from the ceiling. The menu is also appealing, offering a classic selection of Indian dishes.
It was my Hubby’s birthday so i thought of reserving first though it was a weekday. Reservation is a good option for special occasions. It was easy to locate with your GPS on. We reached around 9 and was welcomed with a warm gesture full of passion and chirping faces around. Our supervisor for the table explained us the different menu section and helped us to chose the best.
We were served complimentary triangular rolled Papad in a beautiful wooden bowl. I love places serving papad in the first!! We asked for one round of papad again..
To go with the papad were served in beautiful printed lid colorful bowl Tamarind Chutney, Mango Chutney and Mint Yogurt Chutney. The mango chutney was simply WOW, accompanied with the other two.
We ordered Murgh Dhania Shorba, chicken clear soup with chicken minced dumplings, ginger and fresh coriander leaves. The best clear soup i have ever tried on, so flavorsome yet so delicious!! One of its kind and now my hubby’s favorite soup place.
For starters we ordered AchariKhum, fresh mushrooms marinated in a pickle masala and cooked in a tandoor, The mushroom pieces were so juicy and tender and the spices were perfectly blended with to give us the aroma and the delicious taste, served on a bread and garnished with onions and lemons.
For the bread portion we ordered Butter Naan, generous portion of butter, so soft and moist. I literally finish my two butter naan myself, my hubby just got his one portion, it was so delicious and the best part was so soft.
We ordered bowl of Basmati Steamed Rice to perfectly go with the curry, and it was served in a beautiful printed lid bowl, so colorful yet so vibrant.
From the curry section we ordered Goan Machi curry, fish fillet tempered in mustard seeds cooked in tomato and coconut milk powder. So aromatic and the coconut flavor with the mustard seeds was so perfectly done. The spice level was proper and the fish fillet was well blended with the masalas used. My personal hit of the evening!!
I could not take away my eyes from the beautiful printed table ware served, so vibrant and so colorful, giving each dish an unique integrity to it. So hued and gaudy and appealing to the eyes as well.
For dessert we ordered Gulab Jamun, served with pistachio,i found the balls a bit hard but otherwise it was good with the sugar syrup being served along with the gulab jamuns.
Thanks to the team for making my Hubby’s birthday so special, instead of the cake they prepared Gajar Ka Halwa and a candle lit on top of it. The halwa was perfect with the aroma and flavors and the rose extract added to it shouted out loud about the character of the dessert. So delicious and so gorgeous.
It was an amazing experience amidst the harbor, the beautiful yacht were kept and gave an elegant touch to the environment, the outdoor seating has the fishing harbor view and day visit would be perfect to get some really good shots. A huge parking inside the harbor, a must try out Indian cuisine with its elegant look and some deliciously delicious dishes on board.
