I have seen this place and have been a part of me for the last 4 years when i first landed in Dubai,a very busy outlet bringing you the evening snack out with the option of dinner in a very delectable way.Pegged in Al Qusais in a very good location just near the main road brings you the most luscious yet reasonable Chaat from the land of India covering from the North to South and from East to West,so you never have to miss your favorite delicacies. The outlet is huge with standing ans seating facility, there are benches for people who wants to enjoy their food while standing and there are tables and chairs attached near to the place with a fencing of green plants on it giving us the most cozy and comfy ambiance to enjoy the meals.
There is token system near to the supermarket a part of the Shop n Save where a copy of menu is pasted on the walls, you just have to select and place the order and pay the bills. The tokens with the dish on are taken in separate counters as for food one counter and for beverages there is a different counter. The service is quiet quick and just before the delivery outlets there are spoons, fork and tissues kept in boxes without much hassle foodies collect their dishes and grab all the needed cutlers for the foods. The staff in no time shout for the dish name and the respective customers have to collect it,so desi style.
I have tried a lot of dishes here and to start with i love the Bombay Vada Pav,the traditional from Mumbai. Vada pav (Marathi sometimes spelled wada pav or vada paav or vada pao, is a vegetarian fast food dish native to the Indian state of Maharashtra. A simple creation involving a deep fried potato patty with some coriander and spices. It originated as cheap street food in Mumbai, but is now offered in stalls and restaurants throughout India and overseas. So delectable and so good for a evening snack.
My Hubby’s usual is always the Puri Bhaji,as its a good choice sometimes after office, the pooris are very fluffy and hot from the kitchen and the gravy served with potato is too spicy yet too delicious. They serve 4 pooris and enough for one appetite and the taste, reminds me of the hot pooris in my mothers kitchen fresh and delicious.
The next we have tried the Masala Dosa over there, the taste as usual in any other outlet served with the coconut chutney and sambar, but the dosa here are much crispier from the outer layer and soft and tender from inside. The Potato mashed with curry leaves and black mustard seeds inside the dosa is very tasty and hot from the kitchen.
Our next try was Chole Bhatoore (is a combination of chana masala (spicy chick peas) and fried bread called bhatoora (made of maida flour) from India). The Bhatoore’s were very hot and fluffy,a bit oily but this how i is eaten with full butter on it for the flavor and the aroma. The chola served was a thick gravy, with coriander and onions and tomatoes and the chick peas was properly done, giving us the authentic taste from India.
My most favorite dish is the Pau Bhaji here (Pav Bhaji has many variations in ingredients and garnishes, but is essentially a spiced mixture of mashed vegetables in a thick gravy cooked on a flat griddle (tava) served hot with a buttered soft white bread roll). So buttery and so delicious. The bread are toasted in butter to give the best flavor and aroma and the bhaji is so thick and rich served with raw pieces of onions and a hint of lemon to it.A must try out in Shop n Save.
The Tea served is always refreshing over here,as i can see the amounts of tea ordered in this joint right from the opening to the place closing,Highest consumers are of tea either from the office,or for a evening walk or from the shopping of grocery all order a cup of hot tea over here.
Chaat joints are always my favorite as it serves the most delectable dishes from my land which we often miss over here, but this place has taken a lot of effort to bring to us the authentic taste in every dish they serve.Overall this is such a place that i always tend to go and go and go to grab some of those luscious yet authentic dish from my land.A must and worth visit. Many more dishes will be coming up soon so stay tuned for that.
