Not so old and not so new,Chef’s Taste Buds had recently made a great start in the localities of Al Nahda. The orange flashy color interior, beautifully lined up comfy leather chairs and tables, also you get an option fro family cabins with curtains hanging on and cozy leather sofas is my first spotting of the place. The warm welcome of the staff,to the ambiance,to the food and ghazal playing on the LCD screen is a complete package for a delectable lunch and dinner.
We are welcome with Chaas (Butter Milk),a hint of rose syrup,a pinch of light spices to add a lot of character to it,a refreshing drink from India, basically helps in digestion, but one of my favorite due to its fresh, soothing and yet a delicious drink to start the meal with.
As complimentary we are served Chana (mixture),with peanuts, bhujia ((crispy snack and is prepared by using besan (gram flour)).Its crispier, lighter and spicy too,but a great with the Chaas. You wont stop munching it over and over,my favorite on the list.
For Starters we ordered Chicken Tikka which was very hot and spicy, but a delectable dish, the sizzling chicken with the local spices,a hint of chilli, pan fried was my shows steal. So beautifully and vibrantly done, served with onions and lemons.A luscious yet hot dish and a great dish for a starter option.
The Chicken Tikka was served with a Green Chutney,a bit hint of spicy and thick.Goes very well with the chicken which gave a divine taste to it.
For dinner we ordered Tandoori Roti and Paneer Makhani.
The Tandoori Rotis were crispier from outside and soft and tender on every bite, fresh from the kitchen of Chef’s Taste Buds, loved the warm and hot rotis and so well goes with the gravy of Paneer we ordered.
Paneer Makhani was very delicious, rich n thick and so buttery.I loved the cubes of the paneer,so fresh and tender and the spices used was perfectly blend with it.The gravy had a hint of sugary taste, and the creaminess added so much to the dish.A perfect dish with the hot and warm rotis served.
We ordered Vegetable Pulao, for the rest section of our dinner. The perfect pulao reminded me of my aunt’s freshly cooked pulao with lots of veggies, properly done rice,a hint of all the spices available in her kitchen,a buttery smell. The pulao was my hit of the show and very well goes with the paneer gravy we ordered and also our next prawn jalfrezi.
The Prawn Jalfrezi was a bit tangier in taste, spicy which i love coz a spicy lover by heart, beautifully done with yellow, green and red bell peppers, sprinkled with parsley for the flavor and aroma,so delicious yet so appealing.A good option with the pulao, the plain veggie pulao and the spiciness and the tanginess of the prawns was a great hit.
Its value for money,as the menu is very pocket friendly, there is always a rush in the weekends with foodies waiting outside for their turn to come.A good option for North Indian Cuisine,as sometimes rich, thick and creamy is what are taste buds crave for.A worth visit.
