Theirs a lot of dishes to write about this place,as when i first came to UAE this was my regular as i had very scant knowledge about eat outs here in Dubai. But today i am here to write about the breakfast on Fridays which i am a regular and my orders are always the regulars. As late on Thursday night and lazy to wake upon a Friday morning the breakfast of KD is my new alarm clock now a days, straight on time sharp at 9 am with my hubby i am on my way to Karachi Darbar, the Qusais branch. Theirs always a wait for parking in front of KD,but after a bit hassle we usually end up parking quiet far only to grab those not healthy but delicious breakfast.

The ambiance is a regular dhaba get up,tables, chairs all lined up giving us the local Dhaba look out of it,there are cabins for families which is indeed a very good option as mostly the outer area is occupied by bachelors in groups.Within a fraction of seconds we get to place our orders, the service quick, the food as always liked by the people who are the regulars in KD.

My regular breakfast order is one set Halwa Puri with Omlette.

The one set Halwa Puri includes 2 fluffy Pooris,Chanal Dal gravy,Moong Dal halwa.

The Poori’s (Poori is an unleavened deep-fried Indian bread, commonly consumed on the Indian subcontinent,it is eaten for breakfast or as a snack or light meal usually served with a curry). The fluffy pooris dipped in oils was so delectable and soft that every bite of it was wow from my mouth.

The pooris is usually served with a Chana Dal ( is produced by removing the outer layer of kala chana (black chickpeas) and then splitting the kernel, although machines can do this, it can also be done at home by soaking the whole chickpeas and removing the loose skins by rubbing.) gravy with potato slices,a bit spicier though but a good option with the fluffy pooris.

Chana Dal Gravy

Then comes the Moong Dal Halwa (split mung beans, is by far the most popular in Bangladesh. It is also used in parts of South India, such as in the Tamil dish ven pongal. Roasted and lightly salted or spiced moong dhal is a popular snack in most parts of India.) Halwa (is any of various dense, sweet confections.),so rich and so flavorsome, best goes with the hot pooris.A rich and thicker dessert with lots of butter or ghee,to crave your taste buds on.

Moong Dal Halwa

We often order Masala Omelette to it to add to the complete breakfast in an Indian style. The omelettes served are so well done and the mixing of the onions and tomatoes and chilies just adds a lot of variation to it.Best goes with the pooris being served.

It only ends well hen there is a cup of hot Tea with every breakfast you take. This place which serves tea on a regular basis in 1000 numbers have got some serious taste in it,the aroma, the freshness, the soothing factor just adds so much to the character of the tea serves here.A refreshing way to start your breakfast with.

So here’s my delectable end to a king size breakfast in Karachi Darbar,so desi style.Wake up you foodies and grab those one set halwa pooris for breakfast on a Friday morning,so delicious yet so homely.A must try out anywhere, anytime in all the 18 branches of Dubai ranging from Karama,Al Nahda,Oud Metha,Al Qusais,Meena Bazaar,Satwa,Garhoud,Naif,Hor Al Anz,Muteena and Jumeirah 2.So you just need to set your alarm clock and set foot your paddle for some desi style breakfast at KD.
